Federation Services
Extended Hours service
Extended Access provides appointments for patients across Derwentside outside of normal GP opening times.
Increasing patients’ access to appointments is a priority in the NHS. While demand has grown, people also need more flexibility around where and when they can be seen.
Patients can access these appointments through their usual surgery in the first instance, or through calling 111 if their practice is closed. Appointments will be held at Tanfield View Surgery in Stanley, however during the winter months a secondary site at Consett Medical Centre will open as well.

Women's Health Hub
Derwentside Women's Health Hub (WHH) was designed to support women in accessing long-acting contraception by giving patients choice and accessibility and provide a service for all activity that would be clinically suitable outside of a hospital setting.
This service is not to replace those who support women with complex health issues but to provide a service to those, who live within the Derwentside area to access contraception that their own practice may not be able to provide.
We hope to build on this service and provide device fitting and advise for HRT and Heavy Menstrual Bleeding in the future
